Buster Levi Gallery is pleased to present On Reflection, a solo photo exhibition by guest artist Bernard Mindich from March 3, 2017 through April 2, 2017 at 121 Main Street in Cold Spring, New York. There will be an opening reception on Friday, March 3 from 6-8pm.

Mr. Mindich is a multi media artist living and working in Goldens Bridge, NY.   Since the mid 1980’s, photography has been his dominant form of expression. Working almost exclusively in color, his imagery has evolved in extended thematic series , sometimes documentary in nature and frequently in an abstract or semi-abstract mode with a distinctive painterly style.

On Reflection is a presentation of images from a comprehensive photographic exploration of “reflections” on both a physical and metaphorical level. Dealing primarily with reflective surfaces that accentuate density, layering and complexity, coupled with his singular choice of subject matter, this artist’s work is implicitly mysterious with a generally dreamlike and surrealistic quality.   Each viewer may bring his own interpretations or meanings, but there is certainly more than meets the eye to many of these works. It may be a simple “agnosia” or “the knowing, by not knowing” that is one of this artist’s favorite qualities in art. It is exactly this edge of uncertainty, together with Mr. Mindich’s sensual and peculiar choices of color; composition and form that gives his work a compelling power and beauty. "Refreshingly, it is noteworthy that all this is the direct result of the artist's original photographic eye without any of the digital manipulation so common today."

Buster Levi Gallery is open Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 pm.
